The best - cheapest and not so cheap - everything for NYC sushi - at least in my world. I love it and here's my favorites or at least the ones that keep me talking.
i hate to say it - once - this was my absolute favorite place to get cheap sushi - lately however - quality is down - staff does not pay attention to details - and it's overall bumming me out to see if fall by the way-side on what would be a great dining experience. yeah it's still cheap - and for cheap sushi - i guess you get what you pay for - it's consistently 'alright' - just don't expect anyone to assist you after your meal is served - heck - it's hard enough just to get your check paid so you can leave. i'll still eat there - just if i'm in need of a cheap sushi no frills dinner.
high price - high quality - worth it totally! totally a place to maybe find a celebrity or two. excellent quality - great atmosphere. fantastic if you don't have to worry about a budget.
i've had better - i've had worse - a little pricy for just eh sushi. nice venue - easy to find - easy to get to - great saki selection. thought the chirashi bowl wasn't the best i've had. just eh.
i have walked past this place a hundred times over the past few years i've lived in new york. i don't think i've ever really noticed the place until the other night. as i walked by--i saw this couple sitting in the window seat just as the waiter was bringing out their tray of food. the presentation was gorgeous. so--i made a mental note to go back and try it for myself.
well--last night i did try it. and i have to say--not too shabby. we started out with organic sake and had the typical edamame and shrimp shumai for appetizers. from there we went to their 'specialty' maki (rolls) on the menu. we picked 4 different kinds and had a selection of sashimi as well.
i'm not a huge fan of eel on anything. one of the rolls we got was eel and mango with cucumber. let me tell you--it was fantastic! the other surprise came in the form of a peanut and avocado roll. it was pretty darn good for an 'unusual' combination.
i'd go back. the price--a little higher than the normal places i go to but i think the quality made up for the price in this case.
oh--the staff--very friendly and very helpful.
not as cheap as you'd think - if you order too much - it does get pricy - but good quality nonetheless.
another great sushi find in hells kitchen!
wow - blown away - thought the prices were only high because of location but worth the quick pop in on the way to the theatre. very cool decor - many varieties to chose from: saki and fish. give it a try.
