Los Angeles is known for so many famous and infamous things! Most of which can be found all in the same part of town!

  • The Hollywood Sign

    4059 Mt Lee Dr , Los Angeles, CA

    Erected in July of 1932, the iconic Hollywood sign was originally conceived to promote a new housing development called "Hollywoodland." The Crescent Sign Company built the sign with the letters spanning 30x50 ft each. Although it was not meant to remain on display permanently as the film industry grew the sign became a landmark.. Over time the sign became damaged and in 1949 the Department of Commerce took over maintenance and removed "LAND" so the sign would represent the city as opposed to the housing development. By 1978, the sign had greatly deteriorated and donors stepped in to replace the letters of the sign at $27,700 per letter.

  • Capitol Records Inc

    1750 Vine St , Los Angeles, CA

    The construction on the Capital Records Tower was completed in 1956 and designed to look like a stack of records. The beacon at the top of the building spells out "Hollywood" in morse code, although in 1992, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Capital Records the message was changed to "Capital 50" but it has since returned to the original message. The south wall is home to a mural honoring jazz legends entitled "Hollywood Jazz, 1945-1972."

  • Walk of Fame

    6801 Hollywood Blvd , Los Angeles, CA

    The Walk of Fame honors individuals both real and fictional who have contributed to the film, television, radio, recording and live theater industry. Inlaid into the sidewalk is a star with the name of the honoree and a an icon depicting the industry category for which they are recognized. Started in 1958 the walk now has over 2,000 stars. The youngest star to receive an award was Britney Spears in 2003. Gene Autry is the only performer with all five stars for his contributions in all categories.

  • Grauman's Chinese Theatre

    6925 Hollywood Blvd , Los Angeles, CA : (323) 464-8111

    Grauman's Chinese Theater is an important landmark in Hollywood. It opened in May of 1927, premiering The King of Kings, directed by Cecil B. DeMille's. The theater was the dream of Sid Gruaman who had previously opened the Egyptian Theater not far from where the Chinese Theater. With help from other parties, Grauman was able to build his palace and decorate it with imported artifacts from China which still decorate the theater today, including the two stone "Heaven Dogs" that stand guard at the entrance. The forecourt of the theater is home to cement autographs, hand and footprints of around 200 celebrities from the 1920's when the theater opened to present day.

  • Hollywood Forever Cemetary

    6000 Santa Monica Blvd , Los Angeles, CA

    The Hollywood Forever Cemetery is the final resting place of numerous Hollywood and entertainment luminaries such as Mel Blanc, Cecil B. DeMille, John Huston, Peter Lorre, Carl Switzer, Rudolph Valentino and Dee Dee Ramon can all be found here. In the summer the cemetery screens movies for the public.
