Skoot is a map mash-up site that allows users to plan a single day's adventure, a historical tour, their favorite places in a city, or a full week's vacation by simply plotting points on the map!

Be it a rigidly scheduled pub-crawl with friends one night, or a historical walking tour, TravelSkoot provides the tools for you to create your personalized activity.

You can make a skoot for a city you’ve never been to by searching for skoots created by other users. Use those tours as they are or go ahead and create a new skoot mash-up of your own from tours you like.

Have guests coming to town? Create a skoot for them with the best place for coffee in the morning, the way to shops, and a place for a little lunch so they can get around while you’re at work.

What’s more, skoots can be viewed on WAP enabled phones on your mobile browser for easy access when you’re on the streets.

What is skoot?
Skoots are point-to-point excursions based on various interests: historical, commerce, itinerary, food, sightseeing, etc. You can put one together yourself, or use one created by someone else.

Skoot Features

1. Build point-to-point skoots based on your needs or interests.
   
2. Copy and modify skoots from other users in order to personalize a skoot to your interests. For example, copy a skoot of someone’s favorite burger places and edit it by deleting all but one burger place and adding in locations around that area you’d like to visit.
   
3. If you have more than one point, TravelSkoot automatically generates driving directions.
   
4. Send skoots to a friend through email, or a mobile phone if you have a mobile browser.

How can I use TravelSkoot.com?

1. Traveling to a new city?
   Search and see what skoots other people have made for inspiration. If you already know your plans, plot out your trip to cover a day of sightseeing, or places to eat or shop near your hotel.
   
   
2. City Exploration
   Locals can create a skoot for a day of errands, or a part of the city they’d like to explore. Maybe you’re a history buff who would like to share your knowledge or a certain neighborhood with others.

   Why are there no skoots for my city?
   Skoots were made in some of the larger cities in the US but not all. This is where you can help, create skoots for your city or make ones for places you've traveled to. This will offer others plenty to choose from when creating their own skoots.

   Will all my content be public?
   You have the option to keep your skoot private. To do this, select “private” in the Info tab when you’re creating your skoot.

   Can I do a cross-country skoot?
   Sure.

   If I copy a skoot do I have to rename it?
   It would be helpful if you renamed the skoot you are copying, otherwise the skoot will display as “Copy of…” and we bet you can be more creative than that.

   Do I have to have an account to use TravelSkoot?
   No. You are free to browse and use the skoots that are public. We ask you to register if you want to build your own skoot, or revise a skoot to fit your needs, otherwise it can’t be saved.

   Can I send my skoot to someone who does not have a log in?
   Yes. Skoots can be emailed to anyone even if they do not have an account.
